Getting Started |
Owning your own palace is a challenge if you have never done any building before.
If you are brand new to building there is a selection of tools and tips that will
help your job be much easier. In the following pages you will find links and downloads
that will do just that along with tips from some long time builders. We hope that this
will help you and we look forward to seeing your palace grow. There is also a downloads
for a variety of applications that will help this process be both safe and easy. (Yes,
building your own palace can be easy)

Copying Scripts |
When copying scripts into palace it is very important not to change the "format" so its
very important to use the proper type of text editor. This means don't use Word or wordpad
but rather applications like PFE and other "TEXT" editors. PFE is just one of the available
downloads in the "Playground". Make sure when editing a script you save the original
and only change one part of the script at a time to ensure that if you have an "error" you know
exactly where it is by doing it step by step.

Sharing Your Scripts |
There are places online where you can "share" your scripts for both rooms and cyborg. Some of
those include www.palaceplanet.net and http://pchat.org/forums/index.php. You can also find
scripts that others have created at these places.

Scripting Tips and Tools |
Among the many scripting tips and tools out there, nothing is quite as expansive as, you guessed it,
www.google.com. We have already mentioned PFE and the importance of a text editor, there are also
a few applications that make maintaining your palace easier as well. Ali-co has a couple applications
that are very good especially once youg get to the point of adding rooms via "patfile". It has a
"room adder" and a "patbuddy" application that helps you "check" for errors.

Room Making |
Making rooms consists of several things, a background or image, scripts, doors and possibly music.
The depth of detail is limited only by your imagination. Now with pchat and full colour avs and
larger rooms it has increased the abiliity to express yourself artistically immensely.
